Am I a 'hopeless romantic'? Maybe, even if sometimes I can be quite cynical about the whole idea of love and how the universe has created a line of soul mates for us to bump into at some point in our lives, but I do believe in it. Mostly because the idea of us controlling our every man made destiny seems a little scary. This morning I watched 'the longest ride' and it's the sweetest story I've ever watched, but please take this with a grain of salt I think all great love films are the best. It's a story about a college girl (studying to work in art galleries, you know the ones with abstract art and squiggly lines that bring people to hold their chins and think pensively) who meets a bull riding cowboy (he's got really nice shoulders, and a strong back too) and like all great love stories they fall fast and everything seems perfect but that's not the whole story, because on their first date they save an elderly man who has a small box full of letters he wrote to his wife, everyday they were together. Two worlds weave in and out of each other as the college girl visits the elderly man at the hospital to read him the letters and their story takes color. It's beautiful and pulls at your heart strings, and every moment is filled with little things: favorite paintings, having dinner together, quiet strolls on sunny days, loss, and recovery with the people that bring joy into life. I give it five stars (um, there's no 'insert stars' option but please imagine five glittery stars. yes glitter. lots of glitter.)
Best Wishes,
smol pug xx
