I will teach my girls how to be unapologetic, how to take up space, how to deconstruct patriarical notions engraved in our mujercitas and together rip out those stubborn machismo roots. I will teach them to love themselves and all their stretchmarks, thick body hair, and thick thighs. I will show them how to stand by their hermanas and stand up for themselves and never feel like their anger isn't valid. I will teach them to spit in the faces of men who shout "mamí" from across streets without their consent. I will teach them to kick and throw fist at men who think it's okay to place their hands on their bodies or think they have anything to do with their goddess like spirit. I will teach and I will encourage and I will defend, for my future daughters, for my mother, for my sisters, mis hermanas, for me.
